Monthly Project for September, 2001
Suggested Fabrics
Tropical Napkins
Materials Needed
- 1-1/4 yds. Hawaiian print cotton (makes 4)
- Thread to match
Cutting
Trim selvage edges, fold fabric in half widthwise, and then in half again lengthwise. Press and trim edges if needed to create 20-22" squares. Cut 4 squares.
* Pre-wash fabric before sewing.
Sewing
- Press 1/4" towards wrong side of fabric along all four sides of square; press another 1/4" for clean finish.
- Stitch around all 4 edges, finishing with mitered corners. (see Karen's Sewing Box for miter tips).
- Repeat above steps for remaining 3 squares.
Other uses for this size square include bandanas for humans and pets or head kerchiefs for girls. All these projects make wonderful gifts - enjoy!
